Starbucks Operations Supervisor I
Position Summary
Manage multiple Starbucks locations in Culinary Services on campus; maintains guest service and quality standards by utilizing Residential and Hospitality Services values; assists in staffing; prepares special and periodic financial reports and maintains unit records; forecasts needs and orders product in order to maintain inventory levels; serves as a liaison with guests, vendors, and University departments and partners; maintains health and safety standards in all operations; maintains Starbucks brand standards and compliance. To assist and oversee student and support employees in the execution of various Barista roles in accordance with Starbucks standards and policies. This includes but is not limited to; training to be Barista certified with additional ongoing Starbucks certifications, learning and crafting 100+ food and beverage codes and recipes, maintaining brand specific equipment, retail and food store ordering through various vendors, and upkeep of frozen and dry inventory and stock in accordance with health safety and Starbucks quality standards.
All positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If a person has an approved remote work agreement to work a portion of their normally scheduled work hours remotely, they may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge normally acquired from specialized training such as that acquired in one year of college, technical, vocational, trade or business school; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in performing tasks related to the area of employment; and requires one to three years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience and education in management; ability to work in extremely fast paced, highly mobile student guest environment; previous work in team management setting; prior experience creating partner and vendor win-win relationships; experience with point-of sale system, employee scheduling and basic human resources functions.
Preferred Starbuck's certification in the area of employment.
