  • Opportunity for a Senior Status Officer to join the Crown Lands team in the investigation of tenure and administrative actions on Crown land since the time of European settlement.

  • Salary relative to experience and ranges from $97,027 to $107,059 + super

The role

Our diverse and supportive Business Support & Advisory Services team are currently seeking to appoint a Senior Status Officer to investigate and prepare reports on current and historical Crown land status. Reports are to support the State’s position in native title matters and other areas where land status is required.

What you will bring to the role

  • Ability to prepare customised land status reports providing a chronology of current and historical tenure or administrative actions.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate information to stakeholders regarding land status reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing work demands given a diverse range of issues encountered simultaneously to be resolved with defined and tight timeframes.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills as well as the ability to use a range of technology to conduct searches and complete reports
  • Enjoys autonomy and demonstrates proficiency in working independently, taking initiative, and making decisions
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Innovative and open to identifying and supporting business and system improvements

 

What is an essential requirement

  • Substantial knowledge in geographical spatial information systems and databases
  • Knowledge of the specific legislation and acts relating to land title, native title and Crown lands acts under New South Wales legislation.
