- Salary relative to experience and ranges $120,701 to $134,460 + Super
About the role
The Senior Project Officer works as part of a small team supporting the Deputy Secretary, Strategic Policy Science and Engagement team (SPSE) and undertakes a range of research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of projects, in line with established project plans and objectives.
To excel in this role:
- Proven ability to work independently and deliver results under pressure and within tight timeframes.
- Skilled in communicating complex information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and can balance competing demands to achieve results
- Strong experience coordinating projects within a senior executive office
Key knowledge and experience:
You will develop, evaluate and review strategic projects that meet the Group’s obligations to work, health and safety, risk management, organizational culture and governance. You will prepare and implement strategies, work plans and tools to monitor and evaluate projects to identify and address issues and assess project progress and overall effectiveness.
Provide advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and present recommendations to support project delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other project priorities.
Ensure advice provided is based on appropriate factual evidence and research, and a comprehensive understanding of the legislative and strategic policy framework.
Manage requests for information including from senior executives, Ministers’ Offices, other parts of the agency, other government agencies and the public, and coordinate timely, informed and well-constructed responses.
Provide a range of secretariat and administrative services, including coordinating meetings and preparing briefs, reports and papers, to support project management delivery.
Negotiate with divisions and organizations to facilitate planning and coordination of joint projects.
Essential requirements:
- Qualifications in project administration and/or extensive experience in relevant field.
