  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $124,322 to $138,494 + super

 

The Planning, Offsets and Threatened Species and Ecosystems (POTSE) delivers a range of programs relating to biodiversity stewardship, threatened species conservation, and the NSW biodiversity credits market and also leads reforms to the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme.

The division is seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer to provides high-level executive, coordination and business support to the Executive Director and Manager, Divisional Strategy and Coordination (DSC) to ensure the effective and efficient operations of DSC and the division more broadly. The role delivers business support projects and functions in close collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders.

 

About You

You will have strong experience providing business, coordination and administration support to Executives with proven capacity to deliver complex projects in a high-pressure environment. You will be highly proficient in delivering projects, resources and processes to support compliance with corporate requirements for business planning, program management, performance reporting, risk management and assurance, complaints management, procurement, records management and Workplace Health and Safety.  You will have a sound understanding of government budgeting and budget management processes and the ability to apply government protocols and to engage effectively with corporate systems.   You will also have an ability to problem solve and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders.

Participation in the NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme (BOS) & the Biodiversity Conservation Trust’s (BCT) Private Land Conservation (PLC) Programs

All new employees with an existing defined interest in the BOS will be required to disclose their personal (or a close family member’s) participation to ensure potential conflicts are managed appropriately. In some circumstances this may require divestment of the interest.

The BCT also has restrictions on staff participation in its funded PLC programs. No additional funding, beyond that already agreed to by the BCT, may be sought or approved during time as a BCT employee or for a 12-month period following termination of employment.
