EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.
About the Opportunity
Our EnergyCo NSW Planning and Policy team is currently seeking to appoint a Manager Planning to lead the planning and environment team for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission project – a cornerstone of NSW’s renewable energy future. As Manager Planning, you’ll oversee approvals, manage compliance and keep delivery on track by working closely with senior leaders, contractors, and government agencies. You’ll mentor and support a small team, contribute to policy development and represent the project with councils, stakeholders and the wider community. This role offers the chance to shape a high-profile project that will deliver lasting benefits to regional NSW.
About You
You are a skilled planning professional with experience securing approvals for major infrastructure projects, ideally with knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and related NSW planning and environmental legislation. Confident in navigating complex frameworks, you can manage competing land use interests while building strong relationships with consent authorities, referral agencies, councils and community stakeholders.
You thrive in fast-paced environments, providing clear strategic advice that balances regulatory requirements, industry investment and community outcomes. As a collaborative leader, you are confident in guiding a small team to work alongside service providers to deliver planning outcomes efficiently. Some regional travel to the Central-West Orana REZ project will be required to meet with councils, stakeholders and communities. If this sounds like you – we encourage you to apply today!
Essential Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the fields of planning, environmental studies, law, linear infrastructure development, renewable energy generation and/or other relevant discipline
- Current Australian Drivers licence (Class C minimum) and willingness to travel
