The role
The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) is establishing a Talent Pool for Senior Project Officer within our Corporate Services – Digital Information Office. This is an opportunity to contribute to important business technology projects that support the delivery of services to communities across NSW.
As a Senior Project Officer, you will lead the planning and delivery of complex digital and business projects from start to finish. You’ll coordinate resources, manage budgets, monitor risks, and ensure quality outcomes that align with DPHI’s priorities. The role also involves maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, providing expert advice, and developing recommendations that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
As part of our collaborative and future-focused team, you’ll take the lead in applying best practice project management approaches, driving innovation, and ensuring our projects deliver real value for the people of NSW.

Senior Project Officer
What you will bring to the role
- Proven experience managing complex or large-scale projects, balancing competing priorities, and delivering results on time and within budget.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise work, manage risks, and respond to changing project requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and confidently.
- Solid understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, focused on achieving outcomes and supporting positive change.
