  • Salary relative to experience, $129,464 - $142,665 + 12% superannuation

 

Are you passionate about shaping the future of digital governance in NSW? Join a team that’s driving ethical, secure, and innovative use of technology across one of the state’s most impactful departments.

In this strategic role, you’ll be at the forefront of developing and implementing digital governance frameworks that support the safe, ethical, and effective use of emerging technologies, including AI and data platforms. You’ll work across the department to embed digital guardrails, uplift digital capability, and ensure compliance with NSW Government frameworks.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the design and rollout of digital governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Translate complex governance principles into practical digital delivery across agile, cloud, and emerging tech environments.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, privacy, and legal teams to assess risk and ensure compliance.
  • Provide expert advice to business units on digital governance and ethical tech use.
  • Champion Communities of Practice and contribute to capability uplift initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and briefings for governance forums and decision-making bodies.

 

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience in digital governance, risk, or compliance, preferably within the public sector, and possess strong knowledge of NSW Government digital and IT frameworks. They will demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and bring a passion for balancing innovation with accountability and ethical practice in the use of emerging technologies. This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in complex and fast paced environments and enjoys translating exciting opportunities and challenges into practical, enabling solutions.
