The Ministerial Services Branch (MSB) within DCCEEW is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Officer to join its dynamic team. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in executive and/or ministerial support, coordination or liaison environments and managing projects who is keen to take their skills and experience to the next level.
About the role
In this role, you will play a key role in a supportive team environment helping to facilitate the delivery of the Government’s priorities in the water portfolio by:
- ensuring the timely provision to the Minister’s office of responses to ministerial briefing and correspondence requests
- drafting, coordinating, tracking, reviewing and reporting on the timely provision of ministerial briefings and correspondence
- providing clear, risk-assessed advice on complex and sensitive issues
- collaborating across DCCEEW and with other departments and state-owned water corporations
This role offers a unique view across governance, public policy, and program delivery, with strong career development pathways within the NSW public sector.

You are a confident communicator and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You bring:
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Sound judgement, diplomacy, and analytical thinking to navigate sensitive issues

Key knowledge and experience
- Experience in providing high-level advice on complex, sensitive, or controversial issues to senior management or ministerial level
- Sound understanding of the machinery of government and relevant legislation
