The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) is seeking a visionary executive to lead our Finance function across the Planning Group. This is your chance to shape the delivery of strategic managerial accounting and drive financial and operational insights for the very team leading the charge to tackle the housing shortage crisis across NSW.
The role
As Director Finance, you’ll lead a team to deliver financial strategies and insights that help the Planning Group achieve its goals. You’ll be responsible for shaping financial policy, providing high-quality advice to executives, and ensuring resources are allocated effectively. Your role is hands-on—overseeing budgets, driving financial performance, and introducing new technologies like AI to streamline processes.
You’ll need to balance regular reporting with providing meaningful insights for decision-making, all while fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. Navigating change, supporting professional growth in your team, and building a sustainable funding model are key to your success in this dynamic environment.

- Relevant tertiary qualification and eligibility for membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia
