We’re looking for a highly experienced in-house Principal PEGA Application Developer to join the Corporate Services team at Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. In this ongoing, full-time role, you will take the lead in designing, developing, and supporting robust PEGA solutions for the Planning Portal—helping to shape the digital future of planning in NSW.
You will be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team where your expertise will make a real impact. From mentoring junior developers and integrating new technologies, to ensuring our digital services are secure, scalable, and user-focused, you’ll play a key role in every stage of the development lifecycle. Working as part of the core operations team you will provide governance to ensure development standards are adhered to across the Pega Platform, leading the development team in the remediation of defects and issues, conducting root cause analysis to identify impactful change and implementing design recommendations for application components.

What you will bring to the role
- Advanced collaboration skills, working seamlessly with internal teams and external partners to deliver integrated solutions.

- Ability to translate complex business needs into sustainable, scalable PEGA solutions.
- Deep technical expertise in PEGA, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), APIs, automation, and CI/CD tools.
- Experience mentoring and developing others, fostering a culture of learning and best practice.
- Commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and staying ahead with new technologies.
- Strong focus on compliance, cyber security, and managing technical debt in complex environments.
What is an essential requirement:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
