Our South West Ecosystems & Threatened Species team, part of the Regional Delivery division, is seeking two passionate and motivated Assistant Threatened Species Officers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the protection and conservation of some of the most threatened species across the beautiful landscapes of south western NSW. In this role, you'll support the delivery of regional threatened species programs, helping to achieve key objectives in conservation, biodiversity management, community engagement and customer service.

About You
To be successful, you will need experience in biodiversity conservation, be proficient with technology and managing datasets, and have an organised approach to achieving work outcomes. You are a proactive and reliable professional who enjoys and is comfortable working in field environments, including in remote areas. You are confident in making decisions within your delegated authority and take accountability for delivering assigned tasks to a high standard. You work effectively under supervision, seek guidance on complex issues and know when to escalate matters requiring higher-level input. Your ability to follow direction, manage priorities and contribute to team goals makes you a valuable and dependable team member.

Essential Requirements 

  • A degree in environmental science, conservation or in a relevant natural resource discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A valid Australian driver’s licence and willingness to undertake field work, including in remote areas.
