  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $149,739 to $173,174 + super

 

This is a rare opportunity to help shape a city from the ground up and influence how government and industry partner at scale. As Manager, Strategy & Commercial, you will play a central role in defining investment propositions, government and industry partnerships, and commercial pathways for Bradfield City and the Western Sydney Aerotropolis—one of the State’s most ambitious and complex economic transformation programs. Operating at the intersection of strategy, policy and commercial delivery, you will translate high‑value opportunities into executable outcomes and influence senior stakeholder decision‑making across government and industry.

 You’ll be trusted to manage multiple concurrent, interrelated projects, provide sharp analysis and commercially grounded advice, and navigate complex stakeholder landscapes with confidence. This role suits someone who is comfortable operating where problems are not fully defined and can maintain momentum while applying sound commercial judgement across competing priorities. It is well suited to someone motivated by tackling complex problems and shaping high‑potential opportunities into meaningful economic and commercial outcomes.

What you will bring to the role

  • Strong experience shaping strategy, policy or commercial outcomes, ideally within large‑scale, high‑profile or complex transformation initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound commercial and strategic judgement under ambiguity, balancing pace, risk and value in complex decision making contexts
  • Highly developed analytical capability, with a track record of synthesising complex information into clear, decision‑ready advice and recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Proven ability to influence and lead outcomes across complex stakeholder environments, including senior government and private sector partners
  • Experience developing and stress‑testing business cases, investment propositions or commercial models, with a strong understanding of value creation, risk allocation and delivery trade‑offs.
  • A proactive, hypothesis‑driven mindset, with the confidence to challenging assumptions, frame problems, shape options and originate opportunities
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the credibility to engage diverse audiences and build alignment around complex commercial issues
