The Combined Materials & Purchasing Centre for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is seeking a procurement professional to manage all aspects of procurement for the group hotels based in Hong Kong. This key role will be responsible for anticipating business and clients needs in the development of business and source plans, product and service requirements and develop procurement source plans, which meet the needs of the specific business area. Develop and implement of purchasing category best practices.

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the successful candidate will have proven capability and skills in the purchasing and supply chain process and management along with the tools used to focus on quality, service delivery and competitive price associated with All categories of spend. 

 

  1. A minimum 8 years solid experience in high volume purchasing, preferably in tendering of service contracts.  (hotel purchasing experience would be seen as an advantage but not critical)
  2. High level of tertiary education or professional training will be recognised
  3. Multi lingual (both spoken and written) in English  / Cantonese
  4. Systems /  PC skills (knowledge of MBT procurement system an advantage)
  5. Proven negotiation skills and strong analytical skills
  6. Excellent communication skills both internally with operational departments and external suppliers
  7. Proven RFI / RFP process knowledge and  information analysis record
  8. Proactive, independent, efficient, well-organized and able to work under pressure
