We need a Security Manager to join our fantastic team in the worldwide renowned residential building on a full-time basis.
Scope of Position
- Head of Department for Security
- To deliver the ‘Service Orientated and Risk Managed Security Strategy’ at One Hyde Park to provide a safe, secure and well-maintained environment for all residents, visitors and other persons at the premises by managing efficient and effective 24-hour security operations that satisfy Mandarin Oriental’s ‘Safe, Sound and Sustainable’ guidelines, including:
- On-going risk management of all Security Department tasks, identifying and implementing reasonable and necessary control measures
- Access management
- Supervision of the premises, via technical measures and security posts and patrols to protect persons and property within One Hyde park
- Effective response to incidents, including fire, life, health, safety and security incidents ensuring appropriate investigations and reports are completed, and referral to the appropriate authorities, as required
- Maintaining the highest level of service and standards, delivering a prompt and courteous service at all times
- Participating actively in promoting an excellent work climate to boost morale and satisfaction
- Managing and supervising the security supervisors and team, providing reasonable and necessary training for all security and fire safety systems and procedures
- To assist the Director of Security and FLHSS&E in all aspects of Fire, Life, Health, Safety, Security and Environment policy, procedures and implementation, and in the absence of the Director of Operations and FLHSS&E undertake responsibilities, as directed.
- To deputize for the Director of Security FLHSS&E, as required
- To liaise with residents and their staff, as required by them, in terms of security advice and services
- To communicate and coordinate with One Hyde Park’s residents, tenants and other stakeholders in respect of fire, life, health, safety and security operations
- To liaise with police, fire brigade and other agencies in relation to the security of One Hyde Park and achieving an effective response to emergency situations
- Be intimately knowledgeable of UK legislation and standards, and Mandarin Oriental Fire, Life, Health, Safety, Security and Environment guidelines pertaining to One Hyde Park Residences and all shared areas with the Management Company
- Be proficient in managing and operating all fire, safety and security technical measures
- Be proficient in obtaining witness statements, investigating and writing incident reports
- To cause all relevant incidents and accidents to be investigated and recorded in the relevant documents
- Investigate, administrate and report all accidents with an emphasis on incidents as legislated by RIDDOR
- Comply with the Code of Practice for Security Staff
- To be trained in First Aid emergency techniques and fire safety
- To cause an effective response to all activations of fire, emergency, access and panic alarms
- To provide security and safety awareness training and information to colleagues, contractors and other persons working at One Hyde Park, as and when required
- Conduct random audits in all departments to ensure the policy on key control is adhered to
- To cause all security department tasks to be risk assessed, monitored and reviewed, and to implement any reasonable and necessary control measures
- Conduct daily hazard patrols, communicating findings to relevant associates for action in compliance to One Hyde Park Particular Risk Assessment strategies
- Conduct regular patrols of One Hyde Park with emphasis on vulnerable areas and access points
- To ensure that One Hyde Park grooming standards are consistently maintained
- To ensure that each colleague performs to the required level of service in order to meet and exceed in-house residences and visitor’s expectations
- To ensure that personal appearance and hygiene standards are an example for the team and reflect a professional image for our residences
- Protection of resident’s and Management Company assets
- Creation and provision of Lost and Found processes throughout the building
- Communicate any incident to the Director of Security and FLHSS&E and Residences Manager
- Manage the team roster and input the detail into the Work Force Ready attendance management system
- Supervise the security team to ensure that shifts are covered all times
- Set example for all colleagues to emulate by complying with all Management Company policies and procedures
- To monitor and conduct surveillance on any malpractices on premises
- To carry out any other reasonable requests as directed by your manager
- Cover shifts during annual holidays
Health and Safety
- To be aware of, and comply with, safe working practices as provided by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Mandarin Oriental Fire, Life, Health, Safety, Security and Environment Guidelines, as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your work place.
- To wear any appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Management Company.
- To report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to the Management Company procedures.
- To ensure any accidents to colleagues, residents or visitors are reported in accordance with Management Company procedures.
- To monitor liaise with the Learning & Development trainer to deliver 6 monthly statutory fire training and to be fully conversant and ensure that all rules concerning, fire, health & safety are adhered to.
- To attend any training deemed appropriate.
Essential
- Previous experience in similar management position
- Strong knowledge of Fire, Life, Health, Safety, Security and Environment related rules and legislation
- Excellent communication skills in all aspects, good organizational and administrative skills
- To be passionate about delivering the very best service for your residents
- Composed, approachable, confident, flexible, can use diplomacy to handle different situations, and can motivate your team under pressure
Desirable
- Previous Police /Military experience in the Security and Protection operational sphere managing VIP environments. Management in luxury hotel or residences
- IOSH Managing Safely/First Aid/CPR/CCTV Certificate
- Additional languages would be beneficial
