Each officer receives law enforcement training which exceeds New York State requirements for Peace Officers. Canisius College Public Safety Officers perform the duties of an armed peace officer which includes making arrests, transporting criminals and providing armed vehicular and foot patrol within jurisdiction.

Canisius College invites applications for a position of Director of the new Physician Assistant Program. The Physician Assistant Program Director will have responsibility for all facets of development and ongoing leadership for a new Physician Assistant Studies master’s degree program, including developing the curriculum, recruiting and hiring faculty, and working with community partners. It is expected that the first class of students will begin in the fall of 2019. The appointment is full-time, non-tenure track, starting on or after March 1, 2018.

DIRECTOR OF THE DEAF EDUCATION PROGRAM Buffalo
Canisius College located in Buffalo, New York, invites applications for a position of Director of Deaf Education. The Deaf Education program is completely immersed in the St. Mary’s School for the Deaf (a residential school two blocks from the college) where graduate students attend deaf education courses and collaborate with St. Mary’s faculty and staff. This allows the graduate students to experience Birth-12 students, Deaf culture, and the life of the school from the first day of admission to the program. This position reports to the Dean of the School of Education and Human Services. The appointment is full-time starting in August 2018.
