A great part time 3 day per week role for anyone passionate about working to strengthen the capacity of families to meet the needs of their children through group work. You will join a dynamic team working with vulnerable families and children with complex needs located at Broadmeadows.
Your role:
The position is part of Parentzone Northern, a regional parenting service that aims to strengthen family life in the North by promoting positive parent / child interactions and relationships. As a Parentzone Group Facilitator you will support parents, carers & professionals to enhance their skill and knowledge through the delivery of a variety of parenting groups, workshops, resources and training in person and online in locations across the Northern region .
The position is based at the Broadmeadows Women's Community House and you will work alongside a dynamic group of community development workers and group facilitators.
ParentZone programs cater to all ages and stages, from newborns to teenagers. Programs address the stages and challenges faced by parents including family violence and mental health.
Key programs are also offered in multiple languages.
Programs are available in person and online.
The skills you will use day to day:
- Group work program delivery and specifically with Beyond the Violence where applicable.
- Working with families impacted by family violence.
- Implementing professional training and working with children and families in a group context.
- Understanding of evidence-based and outcome focused approaches as well as community development principles, practices and applications.
- Understanding of effects of trauma on children and families.
- Project management practices and administrative skills.
What you should know:
- Salary is in line with Level 5 SCHCADS which starts at $100,776 plus super.
- Flexible through the increments dependent upon experience.
- Office location is Broadmeadows.
- Permanent part time 3 days per week, 22.8 hours.
