Your role.

We are seeking a passionate AOD Family Reunification Clinician to join our supportive and dynamic AOD & Youth team, based at our Dandenong office.

As a Family Reunification Practitioner within Anglicare Victoria’s Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Services, you will deliver outcome-based psychotherapeutic interventions to support families navigating reunification. This role focuses on providing AOD counselling, consultancy, and continuing care to parents, children, and family members under Family Reunification Orders. You will work collaboratively with Child Protection and other stakeholders to improve family functioning, reduce harm, and promote long-term wellbeing. Involves outreach and office based support.

 

Make Your Mark:

  • Deliver AOD assessments, counselling, and ongoing therapeutic support.
  • Manage a complex caseload involving Child Protection to reduce harm & promote wellbeing.
  • Develop and implement Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs).
  • Liaise with external services and represent AV in stakeholder meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service evaluation and improvement.

 

About You:

You are a compassionate and resilient practitioner with a strong foundation in therapeutic practice and a commitment to supporting families through challenging transitions. You thrive in multidisciplinary teams and bring a collaborative, culturally responsive approach to your work.

You demonstrate:

  • Experience in counselling, assessment, treatment planning and case management preferably within the AOD sector.
  • Ability to work with mandated clients and families impacted by trauma.
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and conflict resolution skills.
  • A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Capacity to work independently while contributing to team goals.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading Family Reunification work.
  • Familiarity with MARAM assessments and Children’s Court reporting.

Required

  • Bachelor or Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Behavioural Sciences.
  • Alcohol and Drug-specific qualification or Dual Diagnosis competencies.
  • Full Victorian Driver’s Licence.

 

What You Need to Know

  • Classification: SCHADS Level 6 which equates to around $110,102 plus super at full time.
  • Flexible through the increments up to 6.3 (dependent on experience)
  • 30.4 hours per week, so pro rata the above salary, please reach out for details.
  • Limited Tenure covering parental leave until February 2027.
  • Location: Based within Anglicare Victoria’s AOD Services at our office in Dandenong.
  • You may be required to travel as part of your duties.
