Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY: Provides strategic direction in the finance function at Universal Orlando, specifically ensuring accuracy of financial results (accounting function) and financial reporting submissions to UPR (for UO) NBCU and Comcast (for UPR) (reporting function). Job involves leading a team of senior accountants and/or accountants. Additional aspect of job includes managing the external audit process. Candidate must participate in financial reviews with executive leadership.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and supervise the overall applicable financial function.
  • Manage staff by providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, career development, and performance management.
  • Document applicable policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and Implement cost efficient performance methods.
  • Oversee month-end financial close process.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting of business results with variance commentary.
  • Develop short and long term financial plans including forecasts, budgets, and five year plans.
  • Perform in depth analysis on actual financial performance extending findings to provide meaningful recommendations.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: High school degree or GED is required. Associate’s degree (AA) is required. Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years, 3-5 years Supervisory preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: CPA (Financial Reporting, IA or Tax)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Infrequent local travel. Long distance travel not required.
