JOB SUMMARY: The Associate Application Engineer will be a member of the Payment Systems Support Team. This team is responsible for the overall sustainment, ongoing strategy, standardization, analysis, design, implementation and configuration of Payment systems and services at Universal Destinations and Experiences (UDX).

The Associate Application Engineer’s role is to configure, define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, analyzing, and supporting software programs and applications. The Associate Application Engineer may also setup and maintain system administration and configuration for software systems.

This position is based in Orlando, Florida and may require travel to other UDX parks and properties on occasion.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaise with other technical staff to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems. Provide day-to-day application support on software systems at all Parks Technology locations. Periodically this includes after hours and weekend on-call support.
  • Design, run and monitor software tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement and general debugging.
  • Build and maintain system configuration of supported software systems adhering to defined standards.
  • Provide daily/weekly status reports and communicate open issues to team and manager.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree is preferred- MIS, Computer Science, IT, Business.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of work experience in IT, preferred in IT Support role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working through complex system issues.
  • Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams across all levels of the organization.
  • Flexible and adaptable regarding learning and understanding new technologies.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into software and hardware products and solutions.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience developing unit test cases and plans.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • On-call availability on an occasional basis.
  • May require working hours outside of typical business hours which could include nights and weekends as necessary to meet project deadlines and operational support needs.
  • Experience with integrating systems desired.
  • Point-of-sale experience desired (Galaxy Ticketing, Omnico’s Freedom POS, etc.)
  • Experience with Verifone payment devices desired.
  • Experience with ACI Hosted AOD environment preferred.
  • Mobile / tablet application design and development experience desired
  • Payment processing solutions experience desired.
  • ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
