JOB SUMMARY: The Client Marketing Associate on the Trade Marketing team is responsible for driving marketing communications initiatives on behalf of external clients in support of the sales division. Leads Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood clients through the creative development process and ensures their Marketing tactics align with Universal’s Brand standards, Legal, and License Partner requirements. The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Direct alignment and communication with external clients, strategize and problem solving in order to drive projects to completion, creative brief development, creative asset management, communication to internal partners, and to develop a working knowledge of their internal and external client’s business so that they can provide well thought out and educated input into the development and implementation of marketing initiatives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

ACCOUNT MARKETING

  • Collaborate and meet with external clients to determine marketing opportunity needs in order to achieve sales division business goals.
  • Determine the best approach and fit for the client’s marketing needs and steps toward development, approvals, and implementation.
  • Drive the implementation of client marketing projects and show results.
  • Drive 3rd party created projects through the internal review and approval process to ensure alignment with Brand Standards, LP, Legal
  • Analyze whether the client initiative was successful and recommend to leadership to do it again or adapt it for better results.
  • Day-to-day communication and alignment with internal sales teams related to marketing opportunities from their clients.
  • Assist Manager with the development of project plans and creative briefs as needed.
  • Ensure projects are in alignment with overarching business goals and brand strategy.
  • Focus on sales accounts across the Orlando and Hollywood destinations and will provide on-going updates to the Manager of Account Marketing.

DEVELOPMENT OF CONTENT & MARKETING TOOLS

  • Oversee and organize existing creative assets and fully developed marketing templates/tools to be used for external client marketing projects including digital/print media, websites, email, point of sale, collateral, etc.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the internal creative development workflow system and create new marketing materials and assets that can be leveraged by external clients.
  • Identify any specific photo, video, or copy assets needed for future client opportunities to ensure the best possible creative is delivered.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within budget, in a timely manner, and on deadline.
  • Communicate to the Sales teams what marketing tools are available for immediate client use.
  • Efficiently drive projects with teams across the organization and between both destinations.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of Universal Orlando’s Brand Standards, Legal, and License guidelines and work closely with those teams.


CLIENT CONTENT MANAGEMENT

  • Develop a system to monitor and track progress with content improvements on client websites, advertising media, and marketing materials with guidance and prioritization from manager.
  • Develop, implement and oversee an on-going report that can be shared with Trade Marketing and Sales leadership that identifies client content that is accurate and compliant and those that are not.
  • Proactively provide leadership with recommendations for improvement with client marketing on a regular basis.


PERFORMS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

  • Assists other team members with special projects, as needed.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, and/or business administration.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in marketing communications. Previous marketing and sales experience within the travel/tourism industry is a plus.
  • ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must have strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to write routine business correspondence and timelines.
  • Must be able to effectively present information to individuals and groups.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must be able to effectively present information to individuals and groups.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Workfront workflow system is a plus, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents.
