Manager, Integrated Media – New Ventures

Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY:

Own media activities, including: marketing research, vendor communication, planning & buying, campaign implementation and optimization across multiple paid media channels. Lead the evolution of paid media by managing vendor relationship, partnering with analytics on audience development and continual campaign audits. Responsible for the perfect management and execution of media budgets at a minimum of $2MM per year. Partner with internal stakeholder teams, clients/business units and utilize data from internal and external partners to strengthen overall campaign success. Manage direct reports through mentorship, training, day-to-day communication and feedback.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Media Oversight

  • Oversee and manage the development and implementation of programmatic and direct buy media strategies that drive business attendance goals for New Ventures
  • Develop Points of View and presentations on the changing media landscape to share with all levels of the organization. Stay on the cutting edge of industry best practices, trends and new technologies
  • Collaborate cross-channel with the ability to identify, align and prioritize concepts, tactics and approaches to better drive business goals
  • Explore the growth of new channels that serve the New Venture strategic goals

Media Buying Execution

  • Responsible for perfect budget management and reconciliation of assigned paid media channels
  • Optimize budget across sites & placements to deliver positive return on marketing spend
  • Develop and test new audience segments (i.e. retargeting, lookalikes, custom audiences, etc.)
  • Support ongoing creative and website experimentation.
  • Provides an expertise in content creation to guide other departments and teams.

Internal/External Relationship Management

  • Key contact for vendor/partner relationships including meetings, media kit reviews, webinars and conferences with existing and potential vendors.
  • Gather, organize and present competitive research and spending data as requested
  • Strategically plans all needed creative content to support channel campaigns
  • Works hand-in-hand with the Project Management team to define scope of work and budget for campaigns and tactics.

  • Proactively contributes to continuous process improvement by effectively identifying and addressing issues and coaching the team to support the workflow design and ensure there is consistent alignment between internal partners.

Leadership

  • Provide ongoing training, feedback and coaching to buyers and interns in order to improve individual as well as team development
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree: Marketing, Business Administration, or Computer Science or related required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ prior hands-on experience media planning and buying; experience working across various media types and platforms, particularly programmatic buying, online video, paid search and paid social ad buying systems; strong communication and collaboration skills; in-depth understanding of the media marketplace required; proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and standard media platform of products required.
  • Solid understanding and work experience with Digital media planning and buying process.
  • Understanding of programmatic, search, social, native, video, display, and other online advertising channels (expertise in specific channels is a must).
  • Experience managing analytics teams and overseeing client analytics engagements.
  • Experience in leading measurement and analytics platforms: Data Studio, Social Measurement systems and native measurement tools within Google Analytics, DSPs, Social Business Managers.
  • Understanding and familiarity with as many of the below activation platforms as possible:

    • SA360
    • Yahoo DSP
    • Meta Business Manager
    • Snapchat Business Manager
    • X Ads Manager
    • TikTok Ads Manager
    • Reddit
    • Claravine
  • Ability to provide “thought leadership” and creative problem solving when dealing with a client’s data and strategy challenges to deliver on business goals.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills.
