JOB SUMMARY:
Provides the video department with an expert level of knowledge in studio operations and content creation. Collaborates with other departments and partners, with the conceptualizing of video content and post-production workflow for a project, event, or entertainment offering. Finalizes work products to meet approval of Senior Executive Leadership (up to UOR and UC President) and/or Intellectual Property/Licensor.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executes development of video content for Universal Orlando offerings in collaboration with other departments, partners and/or management. Utilizes industry standards and protocols in editing and video content creation, for display as relates to project scope, marquee events, special events, entertainment operations venues and in park displays.
- Responsible for cataloging and archiving all video content throughout Universal Orlando Entertainment in close coordination with Video Tech Designers and other Video Editors. This includes but is not limited to music videos, movie trailers, Universal Orlando marketing ads, and special event content. Occasionally submits assets for legal and IP approval, including all supporting documentation.
- Organizes material acquisition and installation, communicates with team to achieve superior show quality with regards to troubleshooting and maintaining video show systems for Universal Orlando Entertainment.
- Maintains Entertainment video suites, including editing bay and library. This includes but is not limited to adding media to the systems library, generating play lists, creating schedules, and monitoring the system for quality control purposes.
- Assists Video Tech Designer I for Entertainment production shoots and post-production needs.
- Stays up to date on technology trends to advance production capabilities.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Technical school, Associate degree, or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the assigned technical discipline.
- Expert level knowledge of non-linear editing systems such as Adobe Premier
- Advanced knowledge of live show camera operation, signal flow, installing and operating projectors, LED walls, and video systems, and computer skills including Microsoft office.
- Proficient knowledge of assisting on video production shoots
- 3-5 years’ experience providing work direction.
Preferred:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience within the assigned technical discipline
- Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity
- ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.
• As directed, may assist in technical training and implementation of all training materials. Maintains and shares job knowledge and assists in developing Team Members
