Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include overseeing various trades including scenic/paint, roofing, maintenance, mill shop, sign shop, and crafts. The main objective is to ensure the maintenance of buildings and premises. This involves managing inter-departmental relationships, prioritizing safety through audits and training, and supervising tasks to uphold safety standards and creative integrity within a theme park. Strong leadership is essential for promoting efficiency and excellence, ultimately enhancing the guest experience by delivering high Show Quality and maintaining Creative intent.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coaches and counsels team members on; personal development, professional growth, performance reviews, employee relations, customer service, empowerment, Tech Service’s culture, safety procedures, decision making, identifying & solving problems, allocating & using resources, managing & sharing Information, planning, improving work processes & technology, communications, creativity and any other areas that will assist the Facilities team members in improving their daily performance and increasing productivity.
  • Supervise routine maintenance and PM schedules and operations. Ensures all routine, quick calls, preventative & predictive maintenance, discretionary and emergency repairs are being performed as per OSHA and Universal Quality Standards and as specified on various weekly schedules, quality reports, open work order reports, PM schedules & discretionary work orders. Ensure all Safety compliance and work-related items are completed as soon as possible.
  • Accurate and timely completion of all assigned paperwork. Including but not limited to team member evaluations, counseling, Incident reports, budgets, quality report updates, approval of invoices, approval oversee copes of work, work authorizations, and CCR’s.
  • Effectively oversee the designated park budget while considering other departmental needs through collaboration and communication within the Facilities Departments. Adjust planned expenses as needed during regular budget reviews and updates on latest estimates. Justify any expense overages through clear communication. Develop proposals for annual capital purchases.
  • Regulate subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate completion of all projects. Work with subcontractors to achieve the best pricing for Universal Studios.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Technical school or Associate degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ experience of construction, operation, and maintenance management of a large theme park, including 3+ years of experience in maintenance supervisory responsibilities required
  • Or equivalent combination of education.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Applicants should possess proficient computer skills, with a strong command of programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Maximo, Kronos, and Share point.
  • Ideal candidates will also have familiarity with operating equipment relevant to the Teams they oversee, encompassing Maintenance, Roofing, Paint, Scenic, Crafts, Sign shop, and Mill shop.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting business literature, technical documents, and government regulations is required. Additionally, the ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals is essential.
  • Effective communication skills are needed to address inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory bodies, or business associates.
  • The role also entails interpreting complex instructions and handling abstract and concrete variables.
  • Problem-solving skills are utilized to gather data, analyze information, and reach logical conclusions.
