JOB SUMMARY:
The UXUI Designer role is a core member of the Global UXUI Experience Design and New Ventures team at Universal Destinations & Experiences. This role collaborates with a cross-functional team to expand brand identity across New Ventures, enhance consumer engagement, and deliver an elegant, seamless experience. A key contributor in driving revenue growth, the designer leverages design thinking and data-driven tools to measure customer demand and behavior. They execute, participate in, or lead the entire design process from inception to execution while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive a holistic vision for product design by bridging customer and technical touchpoints to ensure a seamless experience that advances long-term strategic initiatives. Leverage strong expertise in marketing, analytics, personalization, and digital engagement to enhance product performance across digital channels.
- Synthesize product design and consumer research to recommend clear, specific solutions to meet consumer needs. Execute and provide design artifacts that support UXUI best practices across integration (customer and technical) points to provide a superior, seamless experience from daily improvements to longer-term strategies.
- Work closely with business, design, marketing and IT leaders as a point of contact for specific design initiatives.
- Lead content design functions, collaborating with partners across the company to understand the needs of our teams and establishing end-to-end workflows designed to best serve those needs.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree is required – Graphic Design, Human Centered Interaction and/or Interaction Design.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in ecommerce sites, rewards/engagement and loyalty programs working with data-driven product development teams.
- Must present a portfolio of work that illustrates strong UX, visual design and interaction design excellence, brand creation
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Demonstrated success creating end-to-end digital product designs in the consumer technology sector.
- Experience working across the user-centered design process: from conducting and leveraging research (quantitative and qualitative) to prototyping, implementation, testing and evaluation.
- Exceptional design skills: typography, layout, composition, color theory, iconography, motion, interaction design and branding.
- Experience writing UX copy that directs users through a frictionless experience while aligning to marketing and brand objectives.
- Experience creating and referencing wireframes, UI toolkits, style guides, and front-end frameworks for design and development teams.
- Possess a strong technical acumen to translate design artifacts into code-based solutions across many types of front-end technologies including websites, mobile apps and email templates.
- Experience utilizing and creating shared components and contributing to the scale, governance and maintenance of a design system.
- Experience with defining taxonomies, content and tagging strategies for Content Management Systems (CMS)and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
- Comfortable with agile transformation within user-centric design methodologies: gathering/shaping requirements, defining user stories, storyboarding features and iterating based on user feedback/testing.
- Assess content based on consumer, brand, and/or business goals to make creation, revision, and migration recommendations, as well as to define content types.
- Knowledge of current challenges in ecommerce, hospitability or themed entertainment industries such as marketing touch points, understanding customer lifetime value, and the use of data science led personalization.
- Knowledge of reviewing and applying accessibility best practices to solutions that passionately advocate for the user.
- Establish and organize inventories of content assets and designs as a source of truth through a production cycle.
- A positive attitude, open mind, and desire to collaborate, learn, and solve problems, from big picture strategy to granular details.
- Highly proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch.
