JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing Park Services day-to-day operation of specific park/area by providing direction/development to Supervisor(s) and hourly Team Members. Uses analytical skills to ensure that the assigned park/area is meeting departmental standards for Guest & Team Member satisfaction and financial goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees daily operation of Park Services for specific area. Supports cleanliness and quality of assigned area by walking and being present in the field on a routine basis. Observes and adjusts exempt and Team Member daily functions as needed to ensure operational effectiveness, show readiness, guest satisfaction, and safety compliance. Works with supervisors to ensure appropriate staffing levels, adjust staffing to operational changes such as attendance fluctuations and unplanned absences.
- Responsible for departmental improvement in guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, sustainability, and financial measurements. Develops action plans that measure impact to improve overall effectiveness of operation. Maintain positive relationships with other departments to acts as a point of contact to ensure show standards are maintained.
- Responsible for the development of the Supervisor team by providing feedback on performance, giving direction on how to handle, solve and prevent situations and developing communication, decision making and reasoning skills. Creates development plans, gives direction to Supervisors on administering memos and Team Member counseling’s. Creates weekly management schedule for assigned area. Also responsible for hourly Team Members including training, coaching, and mentoring. Ensures all Team Member schedules, performance appraisals and documentation are completed in a timely and consistent manner. Addresses Team Member situations as needed and collaborates with HR/Employee Relations team(s), when necessary, for guidance.
- Provides support to the long-term planning of the Park Services department. Participates in business planning and ongoing department initiatives as well as works with the Finance team to develop the annual operating budgets. Assists in the planning and execution of special events.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years in previous hospitality industry experience required.
- Previous hospitality industry management experience with Theme Park experience preferred.
- Previous experience leading or supervising management team members required.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Some travel may be required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Physical mobility and stamina required. Must be able to walk long distances at a moderate pace to inspect each assigned work area grounds and buildings.
- Ability to stoop, squat, and kneel.
- Ability to lift trash bags weighing up to 50 pounds and loading into compactor.
- Ability to push equipment up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to include latex/non-latex gloves and goggles as required for certain tasks.
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals.
- Comfortability working in all weather conditions to include rain, cold and heat.
- Strong customer/team interaction skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to solve practical problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to identify and anticipate both opportunities and problems and drive them to resolution.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule with late nights and weekends required.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Excellent ability to develop others, specifically exempt management.
