JOB SUMMARY:
Supports all areas of Figure Finish work processes by assisting leads and artists in a variety of work classifications. Support R&S with Preventative Maintenance (PMs) by the opening and closing of Figures when needed. Perform venue walkthroughs, and create follow-up work orders. Utilizing specialty tools, equipment, chemicals, and housekeeping schedules. Prepping of workspaces, and surfaces, consisting of cleaning, scraping, and sanding. Assists as needed with base painting and specialty cleaning. Often operates hand tools, ladders, forklifts, high-reach, trucks, golf carts, and other heavy equipment to move materials.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Ride and Show Maintenance with access into figures, props, and sets for their inspections and repairs to include mechanical disassembly and assembly of parts related to animated figures. Sign off on applicable Figure Finish PM’s.
- Inspect figures, sets, props, shop facilities, equipment, and tools for any wear/damage and document findings. Complete show quality walk-throughs, assessing animated figures, show sets and props for necessary repairs and improvements.
- Request materials or tools and maintain consumable stock and PPE to appropriate levels for the shop. Communicate with Leads and Planners to ensure follow-up and delivery of materials.
- Support general business operations by keeping assigned 5S areas neat and organized. Contribute to the overall cleanliness of shop areas by assisting others with organization while keeping tools and vehicles well maintained.
- Finish work to include airbrushing, blending, faux finishing, installing fasteners and embed, sewing, silicone repairs, cosmetic fiberglass repair.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- High school degree or GED is required.
- Trade School or Associate’s degree is preferred.
- Degree in Visual Arts, Scenery Production, Technical Theater, Costuming or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years set/prop fabrication and maintenance or general shop work and cleaning is required.
- Experience with disassembling and assembling of mechanical parts with tools and small equipment required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Florida State Driver’s License is required to operate company vehicles
