JOB SUMMARY:
Direct and oversee all Program, Project and Agile Product Delivery in the enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO) to ensure Digital & Technology initiatives meet organizational outcomes, goals, deadlines, and budget to advance the Universal Parks & Resorts business. Develop and execute processes and policies, lead program management team members, and work with partners teams to deliver successful projects & programs. Manage dependencies, risks, issues to improve consistency, predictability, and efficiency of delivery. Lead master planning efforts end-to-end across specific efforts starting at charter approval through delivery start to implementation. Define strategy and implement PMO processes for agile, traditional and hybrid development.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Management
- Provide overall leadership to project management team supporting all delivery work to support successful management of all programs and projects in specific portfolio. Work broadly across team to ensure that best practice management structure and processes are implemented. Teams are inclusive of internal groups and external vendors to manage projects, initiatives, and integration of delivery.
- Drive successful scope and schedule management to hit key milestones and timelines across specific projects/programs.
- Support and lead agile and waterfall methodologies where appropriate based on project/program scope.
- Oversee risk management, dependency management and mitigation tracking, inclusive of issue identification, risk assessment and mitigation development and recommendations.
- Work across digital & technology team to develop, track, analyze and publish project and financial reports, scorecards, and program/project status and performance reports. Create transparency, measurability, and accountability to effectively manage deliveries and hit milestones.
Portfolio Management
- Lead and drive a critical portfolio of projects & programs to support our Guest and Team Member experience by providing overall leadership to project management structure.
- Support implementation and utilization of PPM tool for Digital & Technology to align processes, input, tracking, evaluation of work, schedules, and enhanced reporting to enable more efficiency and accuracy of hitting milestones and managing project budgets.
- Key contributor to annual strategic planning process for assessment of critical resources and financial estimation in support of advancing the organization vision & mission.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to achieve robust and successful governance model.
- Manage capital and expense budgets for specific projects and programs in partnership with Portfolio Management PMO team and finance.
Leadership
- Achieve operational excellence and superior results by building & leading a high performing team of project managers, program managers, business analysts and scrum masters to achieve operational excellence to achieve and exceed goals and objectives; team will consist of full-time exempt headcount and contractors.
- Lead and mentor direct reports/team members in day-to-day management and administration of UPR transformation work.
- Provide clear and executive decision-making priority management.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Engineering, technology, analytics or related fields preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 10 + years in PMO, progressive transformation or technology enablement;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
