JOB SUMMARY:

Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of department and employees. Actively supports and implements Planning and Scheduling to further department efficiency. Pursues training and learning opportunities in automotive mechanic discipline. Promotes, engages in and maintains positive working relationships with other departments in supporting department activities by performing duties assigned:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans and delegates work tasks. Supports, follows and implements TS Planning and Scheduling for the assigned shift. Delegates work assignments among qualified team members. Communicates performance expectations in an effort to ensure proper completion of tasks; provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement.
  • Communicates and coordinates with other departments or disciplines as needed. Communicates resource needs and work plans to Supervision. Provides two-way communications between work team, supervisor, and other management and HR personnel.
  • Research defective mechanically controlled sub-systems / parts and using instructional information to complete the repair process when needed. This entails logical and extensive troubleshooting and referring to technical manuals, technical library and the CCMS system while utilizing a systematic approach. Must stay current on all new test equipment that is utilized to troubleshoot today’s new complex vehicles.
  • Diagnose failures and provide immediate and long-term corrective action for all diesel, liquid propane and gasoline powered equipment which includes but is not limited too the following: resort buses, employee shuttles, show cars, Ezgo carts and small engine equipment to provide for reliable vehicle operation and special event/marquee needs (HHN, Mardi Gras, and production shoots .) Responsible for the acceptable show quality of all vehicles displayed and operating at the resort and back stage to exceed guest satisfaction and prepare for park openings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Which can included forklift and high reach repairs, if deems economical by management. Actively pursue ASE certification in related phases/levels and keep current with recertification.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High school degree or GED required.

EXPERIENCE:

Six months to one year experience providing work direction preferred. See specific job description; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must possess a valid Florida Drivers License. Also required to attain CDL within first 90-days of employment (before end of probationary period). ASE certification desired in one or all of the following: Automobile/Light Truck; Medium/Heavy Truck; Transit Bus; Collision Repair and Finish; Advanced Engine Performance Specialist; Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist ON-THE-JOB TRAINING: Completion of Lead Foundations course and demonstration of proficiency in division-specific Lead accountabilities as defined by the Post Training Technical Assessment.
