Universal Horror Unleashed is a terrifyingly unique experience that will bring haunts to Las Vegas year-round. Located at Area 15 is the heart of horror – we would love to have you haunting alongside us! With the nature of this experience comes a unique working environment. The working hours will be unique, typically spanning over late evenings/nights and weekends (holidays included). JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the highly skilled, discipline specific, and technical operations of Scenic Décor and Props within Universal Horror Unleashed. Completes installations, routine maintenance, and repairs to ensure show quality and a positive guest experience. Ensures safety of self, guests, and other Team Members by taking proper safety precautions, following both state and company specific standards. Provides strike and new installation assistance for any set changes/special events, ensuring proper installation from a safety and design perspective.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as key Scenic Décor & Props expert for Universal Horror Unleashed (UHU). Installs, operates, and maintains all scenic décor, fabrication elements, and props throughout each house and show area as designed. Completes routine maintenance for décor and props to ensure show quality and safety standards, adhering to Intellectual Property requirements. Maintains the high-quality appearance to ensure operational readiness of all scenic décor and props throughout the houses and shows, per UDX and safety specifications.
- Responsible to execute assigned tasks given from Technical Lead/Supervisor with minimal direction that supports the team mission. Accurately completes installations/repairs for completion of the design intent and troubleshoots when necessary.
- Assists with daily maintenance of UHU in order to ensure all Technical & Show equipment is operational and functioning properly. Assists in implementing show quality and performance standards as defined by Entertainment and Technical Management. Assists with creating and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Responsible for proper training and use of power and hand tools, scenic painting, fiberglass, foam, and metals throughout the venue. Helps load and unload décor from trucks and move décor into position. Addresses safety concerns as directed to ensure an efficient operation.
- Responsible for effectively communicating necessary information, pertaining to the technical operation of UHU to both upper management and affected Team Members. Completes necessary reporting through the proper systems including Maximo to ensure effective communication between shifts as well as with Technical Management and Technical Coordinators.
- Maintains a basic working knowledge of power and hand tools and metal working staying up to date with industry standards, tools, technologies to find more efficient ways to operate. Completes all company mandated training and maintains any state required license renewals.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.
- Previous experience working with scenic décor and painting, set dressings, props, and event installations.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Local and state required licenses including OSHA 10.
EDUCATION
- Associate’s degree in related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of scenic décor, set dressing or props experience is required, 1+ years of experience within the professional entertainment or themed entertainment industry is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
