JOB SUMMARY:

Leads multiple, concurrent initiatives providing analytical decision-making support for Universal Kids Resort leadership to drive significant value through increased efficiency or incremental revenue and positively impact the company’s bottom-line. This role leverages data-driven analytics to optimize labor efficiency, asset utilization, and capacity planning, driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational productivity and overall business effectiveness.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and techniques of industrial engineering and business analytics to ensure appropriate methodological approach, measurements, tools, and objective, structured analytic techniques to drive business growth (e.g., probability and statistics, process flow analysis, queuing theory, mathematical optimization, computer simulation, etc.)
  • Oversees key projects and delivers analytical insights that enhance executive decision-making and operational performance through improved labor efficiency, asset utilization, and capacity optimization.
  • Works cross-functionally to identify and analyze business improvement opportunities, develop justifications, and drive growth through enhanced utilization and productivity.
  • Provides input and executes strategic plans for exploring new, state-of-the-art analytical tools and technology that can be leveraged to positively impact the department.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Individual Contributor.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Willingness to support a 24/7/365 Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) operation, which includes periods of high demand (weekends, holidays, etc.). Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule based on business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.

  • Must have knowledge and experience using data querying and programming tools (e.g., SQL, Python, etc.), business intelligence/dashboarding software tools (e.g., Tableau, Domo, etc.), and statistical modeling software applications (e.g., R, SPSS, etc.)
  • Proven strong PC skills including spreadsheets, databases, and presentation graphics software.
  • Strong critical thinking, conceptual thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work through complex problems, communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral formats.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to partner with others and deal with multiple priorities and differing points of view in a challenging operational environment.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and lead complex, cross-functional teams.

EDUCATION:

  • Masters’ degree or Doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, or a closely related field of study preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of applied industrial engineering and operational analysis experience performing operational analysis for theme parks, resort, retail, etc. is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
