JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the day-to-day Wardrobe & Costuming operation at Universal Kids Resort (UKR) for all hourly Team Members and Performers’ costumes. Oversees and maintains costume integrity and quality standards, in compliance with all Intellectual Property (IP) guidelines, creative intent, and safety standards. Provides direction, coaching, and development to leadership team and development of all hourly Wardrobe & Costuming Team Members. Uses analytical skills to ensure that the assigned business units are meeting department standards for Guest and Team Member satisfaction and financial goals while maintaining the highest safety standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the team and daily operation of all wardrobe and costume items, ensuring proper sizing options, accessories, and seasonal wardrobe options while developing and implementing any new wardrobe programs. Responsible for ensuring show quality, Guest service standards, cleanliness, safety, efficiency and satisfaction for Team Members. Ensures that Team Members are properly sized and assigned appropriate sizes and par levels of wardrobe.
- Responsible for daily inter-department communication and partnership, generating order requests and purchase requisitions, managing current inventory, quality control, replenishment of items, and maintaining accurate files. Oversees the wardrobe standards within the resort, including IP related guidelines and Universal standards. Ensures the laundry is completed as contracted and invoices are reconciled with counts and ensuring proper quality and service is performed.
- Oversees the daily costume dressing of all Performers ensuring all costume safety standards and procedures are met and align with approved designs and creative intent. Manages the planning, communication, and coordination of assigned tasks for alterations, scheduling of fitting and rehearsals, managing the change process of costumes, and troubleshooting any specific costume issues. Partners with vendors and shippers to ensure that ordered garments are received and properly laundered.
- Responsible for the hiring, training, coaching and development of Wardrobe & Costuming team. Leads, coaches and mentors leadership team by providing feedback on performance, quality control, and Team Member safety. Ensures leadership team is meeting all objectives and accountabilities.
- Responsible for providing resort-wide duty manager coverage depending on scheduled shift. Duties will include responding to ride evacuations and incidents, down times, weather conditions, and effectively communicating across Operations and UKR leadership. Collaborates across departments to ensure operational decisions, changes to standard operating procedures, and operational efficiencies are communicated and implemented.
- Works with the Operations Director to prioritize discretionary and capital planning initiatives for wardrobe programs and new items. Develops and adheres to labor and non-labor budgets and looks for ways to improve overall efficiency of Wardrobe & Costume operations.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Supervises an Exempt team.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.
- Strong collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity/exposure to animated character costumes is preferred.

EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years’ experience in Laundry Management, Dry Cleaning, Costuming or Operation Management with 3+ years supervisory experience required; experience in theme park entertainment or costume operations is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
