JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate Project Engineer I, GAP supports a multidisciplinary team across mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering, contributing to project scopes, schedules, and budgets while coordinating with vendors and providing technical support. They help organize project management processes, guide design decisions, and ensure effective deliverables, while also resolving stakeholder challenges. The role includes developing technical solutions across various UDX venues and systems, and advising stakeholders on best practices and compliance with UDX standards. Additionally, the Associate Project Engineer participates in verification and validation testing in support of the Project Engineer.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Associate Project Engineer supports the full lifecycle of venue systems, including design, production, fabrication, installation, focus, programming, commissioning, and turnover, while providing technical leadership and mentorship to the project team. They assist in developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and promote collaboration across departments and external partners. Working closely with the Project Engineer, they help prepare documentation and schedules for Capital and Expense Programs, support contractual materials such as SOWs, RFIs, RFPs, and specifications, and provide updates to GAP leadership and stakeholders at all levels. The role also involves understanding and aligning with GAP policies and procedures, delivering clear and effective communication across the UDX organization, and participating in system training and documentation improvements using tools like SharePoint, MAXIMO, and PMWeb.
  • Review FMEAs and Safety Risk Assessments for new and existing Venues and Scope of Work for contracts and projects. Review all improvements to insure they follow all applicable codes, regulations and standards including ISO, IEC, AISC, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, AWS, NEC, OSHA, NFPA, F24 and IEEE standards.
  • Learn from Subject Matter Experts in multiple disciplines for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or control systems.
  • Review designs and documentation from vendors/contractors ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and specifications.
  • Support Acceptance Test Procedures for Venues. Provide knowledge of Venues’ Theory of Operations, feasibility for renovation, design, start-up integration, day-to-day operating, and improving operational readiness for all Venues.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors’ degree in applicable technical field required or equivalent demonstrated skill and experience is required.
  • Advanced Degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years’ experience in direct theme park specific technical/engineering roles required or similar experience in related technical field.
  • Significant vendor management experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
