JOB SUMMARY:

The Planner is responsible for coordinating and supporting delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role develops project schedules, defines resource needs, and ensures milestones are met while serving as a liaison between teams, vendors, and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include managing preventative maintenance to support operational schedules, overseeing parts and service procurement (including rentals, tooling, and vendor bidding), and coordinating irrigation and landscape replacements or enhancements across venues. The position ensures job plans, drawings, and asset data remain current and compliant, supports inventory management by maintaining accurate counts and critical spares, and partners with Pest Control Management to maintain regulatory compliance. This role requires strong organizational skills, vendor coordination, and the ability to align operational and strategic objectives through effective planning and execution.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage preventative maintenance by ensuring proper frequency and target completion to facilitate operational schedules. Works closely with the Horticulture management team in planning projects by providing a detailed scope of work, written procedures and estimated time, materials and resources needed for all project work.
  • Parts/Service procurement to include comparative shopping for materials, parts as well as bids for parts and services on an as needed or emergency basis. Management of equipment rentals. Enter Discretionary Work Requests and create work orders for interdepartmental fabrication and/or services. Purchase and maintain Horticulture/Trade-specific tooling as required. Completing all necessary documentation, requests, and justification for purchasing items.
  • Organize project planning by serving as liaison between vendors and the venues for irrigation & landscape replacements and enhancements to all locations sitewide. Coordinate work schedule with Horticulture Management & U1 to accommodate both vendor and venue availability. Assure all tooling and parts are available for project completion. Write contracts and SOW for projects and coordinate vendor access to the respective venues. Stage all materials/equipment for work activities within area of responsibility. Ensure property access is arranged with security for all contractor work.
  • Ensure job plans are up to date and in accordance with the most recent manufacturer requirements and in accordance with landscape & irrigation plans. Partner with irrigation and landscape project team to ensure drawings/as-builts and asset data are up to date and submitted to digital database.
  • Assist Tech Warehouse with inventory regulation by managing critical spare parts/tool list and establishing and maintaining accurate min/max counts. Maintain the venue’s satellite crib according to business needs. Manage broken parts/tools/equipment incoming and outgoing, ensuring lead times are maintained and all issues are resolved. Partner with Tech Warehouse to identify and control part obsolescence and shortages. Focus on overall inventory management.
  • Manage availability of equipment; ensure repair or replacement of parts is conducted in a timely manner.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical Schooling or bachelor’s degree in general studies or project management preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ Yrs green industry experience required; Areas of focus including heavy equipment operation, landscape rehabilitation, establishing TPZs, and irrigation preferred
  • 1+ Yr theme park landscape maintenance experience preferred
  • 1+ Yr project management preferred
