JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the daily oversight of Security Operations at Universal Kids Resort (UKR). Including the theme park and hotel. Acts as a resource for Team Members, Guests, and interdepartmental partners across UKR. Monitors the operation and daily labor budgets to ensure guest and Team Member safety and positive guest interactions in alignment with UKR and Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) standards and procedures. Escalates security incidents and takes corrective actions as necessary. Ensures all Uniformed Officers are properly trained in all areas of the resort and each designated position through scheduling new hire on-the-job training, re-certifications, and safety and compliance of security trainings.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for ensuring the safety of all of Universal Kids Resort’s Guests, Team Members, and company assets. Provides daily work direction to Uniformed Officers for assigned position throughout UKR while effectively communicating resort and operational information. Partners with Security Management to ensure the third-party security vendor is following all established policies and procedures for Team Member and Guest security bag screenings. Reviews Daily Incident Reports from Uniformed Officers to ensure they are thorough and concise for possible future litigation. Routinely reviews and revises safety practices and procedures and responds to escalated Guest safety and security incidents.
- Responsible for developing, coaching and training all Uniformed Security Officers. Manages daily labor budgets for assigned venues. Creates venue schedules for Assistant Manager approval. Monitors, tracks and records overtime and training projections and results. Mitigates overtime by adjusting staffing according to daily attendance projections. Analyzes and responds to various reports including but not limited to Guest comments and incident reports. Assists with the completion of “daily incident reports” for situations/incidents when Lead/Sergeant is not present for Security Management’s review and resolution.
- Coaches and utilizes feedback forms to document and maintain safe Team Member actions and feedback in accordance with UDX policy and effectively communicates information and safety concerns to Operations Management. Responsible for new hire training and ensuring Team Members successfully complete all venue training, ensuring cross-utilization of Team Members for labor optimization. Assists with security projects, cross-training programs, and resort-wide sustainment initiatives as directed.
- Focuses on Guest and Team Member satisfaction by ensuring Universal service standards are met and assisting with escalated Guest incidents while maintaining an efficient, safe and pleasant environment. Follows Team Member Satisfaction (TSAT) and Guest Service (GSAT) initiatives and programs to keep the workplace fun while increasing overall job satisfaction and efficiency.
- Maintains positive relationships and partners with other UKR departments to ensure that departmental goals are being met while maintaining UKR standards. Responsible for maintaining the quality, cleanliness and facility maintenance standards to ensure Security locations, bag screening, and back of house areas are “Show Ready” for our Guests and Team Members at all times.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule based on business needs.
- A background check is mandatory, and results must meet Universal Destinations and Experience’s background check criteria.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.
- Ability to administer CPR and/or First Aid with proper operation of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
- Basic computer proficiency and strong communications skills.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
- Required to successfully attend and pass all recurring mandatory/legal licenses and certifications as a condition of employment.
- Level 2 (Non-Commissioned) Security License is required.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years in Security or Investigations experience is required.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
