Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergent situations in conjunction with internal and external resources at Universal Studios Hollywood.
  • Assess and treat employees, vendors, and guests in accordance with the medical standing orders as approved by the NBC Universal Medical Director using Standing Medical Protocols based on sound clinical judgment following established scope of practice as administered by Los Angeles County EMS.
  • Promotes and provides extraordinary guest service for both internal and external guests; answers questions and offers information in a courteous manner.  Seeks to provide assistance to guests.
  • Adhere to California Workers Compensation laws and procedures for the treatment and documentation of work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Strictly adhere to and actively promoting all Health Services Policies and Procedures while performing duties.
  • Accurately completing appropriate documentation for each guest's and/or Team Member's treatment.
  • Perform monthly regulatory inspections of fire extinguishers, sharps containers, eye wash stations, AEDs, facilities, and any other inspections as requested. Complete all necessary documentation and logs for inspections in a timely manner.
  • Complete all on-duty inspections including vehicle inspection, equipment check, bag check, etc.
  • Participates in drills and training related to USH Disaster Response Plan.
  • Participating and assisting in staff meetings, in-service programs and development activities as required or requested.
  • Use of several different electronic databases for recordkeeping.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and secure environment for both team members and guests of all ages, following all company guidelines and protocols.
  • Identify, de-escalate, and resolve conflicts or disturbances professionally and effectively to maintain a positive atmosphere.
  • Provide a positive and welcoming experience for guests of all ages while maintaining composure during difficult interactions.
  • Maintain a high level of trust and integrity to promote a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues of all ages.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Understands and demonstrates the proper use of safety practices and ensures department standards are maintained and safety policies for the Park upheld. 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Paramedic currently licensed in the state of California or Emergency Medical Technician currently certified in the State of California.
  • Minimum of one-year clinical experience as a Paramedic or EMT or experience in a patient care setting with related EMT or Paramedic duties preferred.
  • Current California Paramedic License or California EMT Certification, Basic Life Support (BLs) with AED Certification, and Valid California Class C Driver’s license required.

Job Demands:

  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs with assistance
  • The noise level is generally moderate to high
  • Team Members are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather. Depending on the assigned location, work can be almost exclusively outdoors

Schedule:

  • Must be available to work at least 4 days per week throughout the peak seasons to include a rotation of mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay:

  • $23.09 per hour
