The Academic Media Center (AMC) is looking for creative and motivated candidates to assist with video production on campus. The Student Videographer is responsible for providing media production support across a variety of platforms under the direction of the AMC staff Videographer. Productions include the opportunity to participate in student media and campus events (e.g. Colonial Theater), but also faculty research, narrative and documentary production. These positions will help prepare students for creative and technical careers in digital cinema and television, live event production (for sports and entertainment), and educational media. The student videographer may work more some weeks and less other weeks depending on departmental needs. Hours many vary per assignment and may involve evening or weekend hours.
Student Videographers work with the AMC staff Videographer and Production Coordinator to plan, shoot, edit, and distribute video for a variety of platforms. Each Videographer maintains a regular schedule of support for media events on campus (including some evenings and weekends), representing the AMC and RMU in professional, courteous and ethical manner. Videographers also work together with student media leaders to support RMU TV and Radio productions in the AMC studio. Student Videographers must be familiar with the AMC Student Media Handbook, upholding RMU and department policies to ensure access to experiential media learning for all members of the RMU community. All paid AMC student personnel must work at least five hours on designated non-show AMC projects or outside productions per semester and attend at least one AMC skills development workshop. One hour a month will be reserved for required staff meetings. Training programs and special projects will be assigned as necessary. Student colleagues will be responsible for covering the hours they have agreed to work.

All majors welcome. Successful candidates will possess strong organizational and time management skills, the ability to communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of people, to problem solve, and work within deadlines.
