Role Description:

Under the direction of the Office of Access, Innovation, and Impact staff, the Work Study Assistant will provide administrative support for educational programs, community outreach initiatives, and student engagement efforts. This role requires a balance of data collection, event assistance, and general administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, along with an interest in education and community development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with UDTR governance meetings by compiling and entering data into spreadsheets for review (covering 7 districts, 4 times per year).
  • Help with Learning Lab visits, greet students in the dining hall, and provide campus tours, if applicable.
  • Maintain and update the educator contact database.
  • Assist with tracking residency students, sending out surveys, and collecting their responses.
  • Input student data into spreadsheets for program tracking and analysis.
  • Design QR codes and create promotional materials using Google tools and Canva.
  • Organize the workroom and keep resources for events and projects well-maintained.
  • Assist in creating fliers for programs and events, and drafting content for newsletters.
  • Help with organizing events, fairs, and information sessions.
  • Design and distribute surveys for student feedback and program evaluation.
  • Maintain and organize program files and records.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned, including support for ongoing projects.

Qualifications:  

  • Strong interest in education, community development, or related fields.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva, and Zoom.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Skills:  

  • Experience with event planning or project coordination.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and data management tools.
  • Interest in working in the field of education or community development.
