About the department / center:

The University Writing Center offers individual and small group peer support to University of Delaware students working on writing or communication projects. The Writing Center also offers workshops, writing groups, and additional writing- and communication-focused programming to UD students, staff, and faculty. 

Role Description:

The University Writing Center is seeking responsible, motivated undergraduate students to serve as Office Assistants in its Memorial Hall and Morris Library locations.

Primary responsibilities:

• Greet and check in tutoring clients
• Coordinate tutor-client interactions
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments
• Provide information about the Center’s services and programming
• Support data management in the Center’s scheduling and record-keeping portal
• Help to ensure smooth daily operations in the Center

Office Assistants may also participate in Writing Center promotional activities such as UD’s Blue and Golden Days and Decision Days

Qualifications 

• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and troubleshoot in a customer service setting
