Parking Services supports the campus community by managing parking permits, visitor access, event logistics, and enforcement. Our goal is to ensure fair, accessible, and efficient parking for students, faculty, staff, and guests.
Role Description:
The University of Delaware is seeking a reliable, service-minded individual to support parking operations across campus. In this highly visible role, you'll enforce parking regulations, assist with traffic flow, support major events like Move-In and Commencement, and provide front-line customer service. Primary Responsibilities:
- Patrol assigned areas to enforce University parking rules and regulations
- Issue citations for violations in accordance with policy
- Learn and effectively educate the public on University parking rules and regulations
- Support traffic control during campus events and peak times
- Report safety concerns and assist in maintaining clear, accessible parking areas
- Operate handheld enforcement equipment and maintain accurate records
- Assist with towing and vehicle immobilization procedures
- Wear a University-issued uniform and maintain a professional appearance
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions year-round
- Perform physical tasks including walking, lifting, and standing for extended periods
Qualifications:
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and walk or stand for extended periods
- Basic computer or handheld device skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable enforcing rules with professionalism and fairness
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Customer service or public-facing experience a plus
