Role Description:

Are you an enthusiastic, passionate, and well-rounded Blue Hen who would like to share your university experiences with prospective students and their families?  Do you enjoy interacting with people and find interest in providing tours of our beautiful campus?  Then being a Blue Hen Ambassador may be for you!

Our Blue Hen Ambassadors are one of the first impressions our guests have of our wonderful university and play an integral role in the recruitment process for both prospective and transfer students. We would love to have YOU join our family of over 100 Ambassadors to help us continue to spread our Blue Hen pride!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Attend all mandatory training sessions (all new hires will be thoroughly trained on university tour points before providing tours to guests – we want you to succeed!)
  • Provide at least 1-2 in-person tours per week (tour shifts are typically 2.5 hours long)
  • Assist with virtual student panels
  • Be present at all Saturday open houses throughout the semester. Responsibilities for open houses include:
    • Checking in guests
    • Directing families around campus
    • Showing residence hall show rooms
    • Serving on student panels
    • Spring open houses will be February 21, March 7, and April 11
  • Opportunities to join sub-committees within the program exist in the areas of training, evaluation, recruitment, and community outreach!
  • Growth and promotional opportunities are available

Qualifications:  

  • Good academic standing
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Impeccable guest service and enjoy working with people
  • Passionate about UD
  • Participation in extracurricular university sponsored activities or clubs is a plus!

Hiring Timeline:

Interviews: November 3 – 14, 2025

Offers Extended: November 24 – 26, 2025
