About the department / center:

University Archives and Records Management (UARM) is the official repository for University of Delaware records that hold historical, legal, fiscal, or administrative value. The primary mission of UARM is to identify, acquire, preserve, arrange, describe, and provide access to records that document the history of the University of Delaware, its constituent organizational units, its predecessor institutions, and the activities of its officers, faculty, employees, students, and alumni, and to support the administrative, business, and operational needs of the University with regards to the management, use, and disposition of its records. To achieve those ends, UARM is comprised of two distinct yet complementary programs: the Archives Program and the Records Management Program.

Role Description:

The department of University Archives and Records Management is seeking, responsible, motivated undergraduate students to assist with records management and archival maintenance. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preservation, cataloging, digitization and housing of historical materials relevant to the University of Delaware. Previous experience working with historical material not necessary.
  • Assist with the movement and repacking of materials housed in the Records Management program of the University. Individual will need the ability to lift 45 lb. boxes and be able to climb pulpit ladders to retrieve boxes from high shelves.
  • Tasks will include, but not limited to, photocopying and scanning, data entry, filing and basic office support. The Records Clerk will also perform basic archival processing: removing staples and paperclips, replacing folders with acid free folders, and basic inventorying of material.
  • Students will be asked to sign a statement of confidentiality and to provide a reference..

  • No experience necessary.
