About the Program
The Governor’s School is a prestigious, invitation-based residential program for rising high school juniors across Delaware. Sponsored by the Office of the Governor and the Delaware Department of Education, and hosted by the University of Delaware, the program brings together high-achieving students for an immersive academic and arts experience.
Program tracks include:
- Academic Program: ~70–80 students
- Visual Arts (Painting): 10 students
- Dance: 10 students
- Music: ~30 students

What You’ll Do
- Live in UD residence halls
- Chaperone 10-12 high school students
- Serve as a mentor, role model, and trusted point of contact
- Escort students to classes, meals, activities, and off-campus field trips
- Help plan, lead, and participate in evening and residential activities
- Be on call to support student safety, well-being, and community standards
- Collaborate with staff to create a positive, inclusive residential experience

Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma required
- Prior experience working with children or adolescents
- Experience in camps, summer programs, or residential settings preferred
