The Division of Student Life supports all UD students as they develop personally, educationally and professionally. Students find that the development we facilitate, and the communities we foster, fill the abundant space between the classroom and life to complete their University of Delaware experience.
In partnership with students, parents and families, faculty, staff and alumni, the Division provides thousands of unique opportunities for all UD students to discover their identities and passions; manage their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing; and learn to engage with the many diverse communities to which they belong as they prepare for a lifetime of growth and excellence.
Role Description:
This student position will be a member of The Egg, Student Life’s Student Creative Agency—a professionally advised student multimedia and design group and premier professional development and experiential learning program revolving around creativity. We work on projects for Student Life departments and in support of student groups. For more information, visit udel.edu/egg. Social Media, Marketing & Event interns are expected to use their personal cell phones for photos and videos, using shared passwords and access to our platforms. Student employees must log their hours in UD Workforce, our time tracking software, for payment. As an Egg employee, a willingness to learn new things and take on work in various marketing and communication areas is an expectation of all positions to help grow your creative toolkit. However, most of your projects will align with the area of focus you have been hired to complete. Your supervisor will work with you to establish specific employee duties and assignments, work location and a work schedule. Continuation of this position is contingent upon availability of funding and job performance.
Primary Responsibilities:

Attends and promotes events hosted by Division of Student Life units as assigned by supervisor

Posts photos, stories, videos and reels to the Student Life Instagram and Threads @udstudents accounts with approval from supervisor

Takes initiative to brainstorm ideas for creative content, and propose events and subjects for social media coverage

Leads The Egg student creative agency’s communication initiatives in support of Student Life and Registered Student Organizations (RSOs)

Attends bi-weekly meetings with fellow interns and supervisor to discuss assigned content and best practices

Interviews students, staff, faculty campus leaders, guests and other members of the UD community as assigned or on the fly for content

Additional duties include: writing content for the Student Life News blog, including RSO spotlights or relevant posts and listicles

- Freshmen or Sophomore status preferred but not required

Hiring Timeline:
The duration of this internship is for the Fall 2026 semester (15 weeks), Spring 2027 semester (15 weeks) and any other durations agreed upon with your supervisor such as Summer or Winter Sessions or additional continuous academic years. Training starts in Summer 2026. The maximum time commitment of this position is 5 hours per week, which amounts to 10 hours in a two-week pay period. If hours need to be adjusted based on events, independent projects or extenuating circumstances, this must be communicated with and agreed upon by your supervisor.
Additionally, there is a mandatory bi-weekly team meeting defined by your team supervisor. If you cannot attend this meeting, that time must be made up at an agreeable time and date, promoting team collaboration. This time is also logged into your maximum hour commitment, so you will be compensated for this time.
All time must be scheduled with your supervisor based on your academic and student involvement schedules through a shared agency calendar and logged by each intern in UD Workforce. Clock in to the assignment "Egg - SL Comm Services" to start logging your hours and clock out when finished.
The agency has a three-strike policy which includes missed assignments, missed meetings, missed communications or other offenses, including posting content without permission. Once three strikes are reached, you will forfeit this paid position. Your supervisor will inform you of each strike as it occurs.
