Role Description:
The IT Support Intern provides front-line technical support to students, faculty, and staff within the Athletic department, with a focus on learning best practices in desktop support, customer service, and enterprise IT environments. This role offers hands-on experience supporting Windows and macOS systems while working closely with experienced IT professionals.
The intern will gain exposure to a variety of on-premises and cloud-based IT services while supporting the mission of IT Client Support & Services to help the University community use technology effectively and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support for Windows and macOS computers under supervision
- Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic connectivity issues
- Support setup, installation, and configuration of computers, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Assist with software installations, updates, and basic system maintenance
- Help document solutions, procedures, and user guides
- Respond to IT support tickets and escalate issues as needed
- Educate users on basic technology use, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible computing
- Assist with data transfers during device replacements or upgrades
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- IT related background/enrolled in a Information Technology related major
- Able to allot 15 hours a week
