Schedule: Hours available during the following time frame: Sunday 12pm – 5pm; Monday-Thursday 10am-7pm; Friday 10am–5pm  

Location: Morris Library, Room 050 

Role Description: 

The Research Data and Design department in Morris Library is seeking responsible, motivated undergraduate students with experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Audacity, and data visualization tools to join our team. Primary responsibilities circulate multimedia equipment and assist users with multimedia projects, troubleshoot creative software and equipment, and support digital tools in a dynamic, tech-focused environment. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Assist library users and provide troubleshooting support at the service desk, including help with computer hardware and multimedia-related software applications and research data tools. 

  • Circulating and supporting the use of multimedia resources for loans. 

  • Providing support for six creative technology studios and one data and visualization lab, which includes troubleshooting creative software.   

  • Assist users with and process transactions using a point-of-sale system. 

  • Create digital content that promotes or supports resources and services in the Student Multimedia Design Center.  

Qualifications:   

  • Working knowledge of one or more video editing applications, such as iMovie, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final cut, on MacOS or Windows. 

  • Preferred experience with audio editing and graphic design software such as Audacity, GarageBand, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); as well as data visualization tools such as Camtasia, Blender, Tableau, R, and/or Python. 

  • Interest in or experience with research data support tools, data curation, or creating visual representation of information (infographics, posters, dashboards, or interactive media). 

  • Experience with using Microsoft Software: Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint, and general computer troubleshooting. 

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills individual and group settings. 

  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality service in fast-paced or tech-oriented environment.
