Role Description:
The department of University Student Centers is seeking a responsible, motivated undergraduate student to assist with community service programs in the Leadership and Service office. Primary responsibilities include outreach and promotion for the community service programs, running and facilitating the community service with our partners, assisting with office tasks, promotion of the Leadership & Service office and programs, and projects to support the office as assigned by supervisor and staff.
Creative Leadership, Innovation and Service is seeking an active, engaged student to join the Ambassador team to promote leadership and community service across the UD campus. Specifically, this position on the Ambassador team will be responsible for the community service events held throughout the academic year. The office hosts about four community service events per semester, and the Community Service Ambassador is responsible for recruiting participants, communicating with off-campus partners, driving the vehicles to and from service, and overall management of the programs.
While the Community Service Ambassador will have primary ownership of the Service Saturday program, they will still be asked to participate in additional tasks for the Ambassador team. The Ambassador team will present information about programs and upcoming events in classes, at various tabling events and resource fairs (including admission events), in residence halls, and more. Students will learn key talking points and share those along with their own experiences in the program with the goal of increasing student involvement with leadership and community service. Students will additionally support the needs of the office through administrative tasks and other projects to provide opportunities for engagement with the office. This opportunity will allow students to get a deeper involvement in this unit and create connections with departments and students across the university. Students will gain public speaking skills, communication and outreach skills, marketing and promotion knowledge, and more. Students in this position may be required to participate in Leadership & Service programs, like the leadership certificates.
Primary Responsibilities

Planning and organizing monthly community service programs, including: communicating with community partners, marketing and outreach to students, driving and managing the travel for the events, and more.

Outreach and promotion opportunities, including tabling events and classroom visits

General office tasks including printing and scanning, filing, and answering phones

Qualifications

Full-time student at University of Delaware (Newark) in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027

Passion and interest in community service
-
U.S. Driver’s License and willingness to drive UD vehicles (7-, 8-, and 10-passenger vans)
- Work hours include during the day, evening, and weekends
- Students must qualify for Federal Work Study.
