About the department / center:

The Space Management Division falls under the Planning and Project Delivery Department. Space Management tracks all physical space across campus.

Role Description:

Space Management is seeking, responsible, motivated undergraduate students to assist with tracking university space as it pertains to office seat counts and occupants across campus. This position requires individuals to survey university space and calculate all seat counts in all buildings across our Newark Campus. These counts will then be imported in FM Systems (Space Management Software) for future reporting purposes. This position will also capture room occupants where possible.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Survey university space to capture seat and occupant data.
• Enter seat/occupant data into FM Systems database.
• Update occupant data that is currently in FM Systems where changes have been made.
• Report any changes in floor plan to space manager that differ from the existing plans

Qualifications:  

• Proficient in MS office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Basic understanding of Databases and how the function
• Ability to walk university space for extended periods of time.
• Ability to read basic floor plans.
