Role Description:
The Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Delaware is seeking a personable and dependable individual to join the Front-of-House Usher team. This position will assist in all aspects of Front-of-House operations for the Resident Ensemble Players (REP)’s theatre productions, Undergrad Dance performances, and Undergrad Theatre performances. Individual must have top notch customer service skills when dealing with personal interactions with our patrons.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Customer Service: greeting patrons, directing patrons within the performance space, and assisting patrons in finding their seats, assisting patrons in accessing our digital playbill, etc.
•Scanning/stubbing tickets
•Monitoring the audience during a performance
•Setting up the seating area in our main lobby
•Various other Front-of-House related tasks assigned by the House Manager
Qualifications:
•Customer Service experience: 1 year (preferred)
•Flexible scheduling
•Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills.
•Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate excellent judgment in decision-making.
•Must be available for at least 3 shifts per production.
Schedule:
Performances are Thursday nights, Friday nights, Saturday afternoons and nights, and Sunday afternoons during each production run.

For graduate student applicants:
Eligibility for Graduate Student Employment
Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Delaware and be in good academic standing. To be considered for additional on-campus employment, applicants combined on-campus employment, including teaching, research and graduate assistantship, must not exceed 29.5 hours per week.
Graduate students on contract may hold additional employment, on campus or off, up to 29.5 hours per week total without approval by the student’s program, the student advisor or the Graduate College. However, graduate students on contract are encouraged to discuss additional employment with their advisors to avoid any situations that might hinder timely progress toward the degree.
