About the department / center:

The Undergraduate Research Program (URP) serves as an umbrella for student research at UD.  We support independent student research throughout the academic year.  Our vision is to enhance UD’s reputation for excellence and research through innovation and equitable undergraduate research and creative activity initiatives.   We aim to make exposure and participation in research an essential component of every students academic experience. 

Role Description:

The Undergraduate Research Program is running collaboration between the Undergraduate Research Program (URP), Student Financial Services, and faculty mentors.  The University of Delaware Research Apprenticeship allows eligible, early-career students to use federal work-study funds in order to gain research experiences at the University of Delaware.

Students gain experience and make a meaningful contribution to a research project while learning about the research/ scholarships in their field.

Primary Responsibilities:

Specific Tasks:

• Make meaningful contributions to a specific research field
• Learn new scholarship in a field of study
• Gain hands on experience working on research systems
• Support outreach and educational activities
• Conduct research literature reviews
• Assist with data collection, computation, and analysis
• Assist with record keeping and project management
• Learn new research tools and troubleshooting real-world problems
• Diligent, organized, and attentive to detail 

Qualifications:  

• Work study eligible
• Able to work with faculty up to 10 hours per week
• Undergraduate Students
