Job Title: OSE Graduate Assistant for Organizations
Department: Campus Life
Student Employment Type: Graduate Assistant (Hourly)
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with training organizational leaders and members on policies, procedures, and practices for student organizations.
  • Assist with the student organization event approval process.
  • Manage the process of new student organization recognition, and club reactivation.
  • Manage and create U-Stores for student organizations.
  • Advise student organizations on a variety of circumstances they may face (i.e., group conflict, transition, event logistics, etc.)
  • Assist with the execution of the Engagement Fair
  • Guide the Campus Life Operations Manager with the development of programs, services, and resources intended for use by students and their respective organizations, in the Organization Suite.
  • Supervise the digital media coordinator and the Student Engagement Operations Manager.
  • Advise the Summit Yearbook student media organization, providing guidance and support to the editor, executive board, and general members.
  • Assist with Orientation Leader Selection.
  • Serve in on-call duty rotation with other Graduate Assistants to support evening/weekend programming at York Hill & Mount Carmel campuses.
  • Develop, execute, and assess a leadership development series in collaboration with other OSE graduate assistants.
  • Chaperon off campus trips when necessary.
  • Assist with university, division, department/office events (i.e. Open Houses, Admitted Students Days, Move-In, Welcome Weekend, Senior Experience etc.)
Qualifications:
  • Must be a graduate student, in good standing, currently enrolled in coursework at Quinnipiac University.
  • Prior experience with student center/union or large-scale event space operations preferred.
  • Prior experience managing employees.
  • Prior experience with program development and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when required.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and to exhibit a positive, helpful attitude.
  • Ability to work and maintain focus in a high-energy environment.
Hours of Position:
  • Up to 20hrs per week
  • Majority of hours held between the business hours of 9am-5pm, Monday- Friday with some weekend and evening responsibilities.
